I Need to Stop, and Start Already

Filed under: News — chantal @ 3:09 pm

It just occurred to me that I spend way too much time thinking about how I want to be this great photographer, fantasizing about the lives of other photographers, obsessing over other photographers….and not nearly enough time just being a photographer.

I mean, I’m shooting now more than I ever have, and I’m busy with photo projects and all the stuff I do on the web…but is it going to get me where I want to be? I sure hope so.

Next week is my birthday and I have a list a mile long of all the photographers I want to be when I grow up. Well guess what sister…you’re already grown up, so stop bitching and do it already!

  1. Wonderful comment, so very true. Besides, if you could be one of your heroes, you’d be the second one – do we really need two – no, far better to be yourself and express yourself in your own unique way and let the images stand or fall on their merits. One can improve of course without being false to themselves and their art.
