As a photographer, I have a difficult time paying for the generic-looking school pictures that my kids take every year. I either put them away in a drawer somewhere, forgotten and unseen, or I simply just don’t purchase them at all. It’s no big deal, really. I have TONS of photos of my kids. Some posed, most not…all are incredible. But every once in a while it’s nice to have a good studio photograph made, with even lighting and solid background. So a few days ago I took my three children to the studio to do some portraits. A few friends joined us too, as we made some portraits for the girls in their dance costumes as well. As you’ll see…we had a great time!

My friend Sarah brought her 4 daughters along…. they are SO cute!! You may remember them from a Fall photo session we had. They’ve all grown so much!

I did managed to snag a few shots of the twins before one of them started to cry (I can never tell them apart!) but these photos of them not cooperating are my favorite!

Afterwards, I took my kids out to shoot some more. We had such a great time! And we’re going to have to go out and do it again soon because Chanel still had her dance make-up on, which, when not in costume, just doesn’t look right on a 10 yr old! But I managed to get some great shots of Sharif, and of course, Cherie too!

The kids are adorable and I like that you have the skill to take great looking pictures of black people that look color composed in a flattering way. Kudos!
