How to Make Muffins

I shot this series while making muffins with my daughter, Cherie (age 3).
As an alternative to traditional ’school portraits’ this year, I decided to shoot my kids’ portraits myself, and I wanted to do them in a natural setting, doing something they like to do, rather than the regular, stiffly posed pictures. I want to capture the moment, and preserve the age that they are right now.

I’m not sure any of these ‘muffin’ photos really fit what I’m looking for, but they are so cute, I couldn’t resist posting.

Summer’s End

I took a picture of the same flowers, just about a month apart. What a difference a little time makes. I love fall, but for some reason, I’m feeling a little nostalgic about this summer’s end.

When I was interviewing for that article last week, I was all excited about it, I love talking to photographers. We’re a different sort of people I think. Maybe its due to the fact that we ’see’ things differently, maybe more clearly, I don’t know…but I’ve found photographers to be truly interesting people.

So I was going on and on about the interview, when I was talking to my husband. He was on his laptop going “Uh huh…yes, wow…sounds cool…” You know how that goes, all ultra-interested.

So I said to him, “Well I just think that photographers are really cool, and among the most interesting people I have ever met.”

His reply was, “I don’t know…most of them seem like geeks of some sort.”

Made me giggle )
